Strategic Land and Masterplanning


D2 Planning submitted an outline planning application on behalf of Crest Strategic Projects at Tadpole Farm, North Swindon.  This comprises up to 1,700 new houses, a primary school, local centre and 5 hectares of employment land.  The site had been promoted for a number of years through the Wiltshire Structure Plan and Swindon Local Plan where it received tacit support but was not allocated as there was no need to release the land at that time.  The site was subsequently identified as a strategic allocation in the Swindon Core Strategy.


The application adhered to all the principles set out in the Core Strategy and the applicants undertook an extensive round of public consultations.
